Obituary for Delores Barringer

DELORES JEAN ''DO'' BARRINGER
 

 

LEETONIA – Delores Jean “Do” Barringer, 85, passed away early Thursday afternoon at the home she shared with her daughter.

Delores was born on June 26, 1929 in Georgia, a daughter of Grady and Mabel (Styles) Davis.

She graduated from Canfield High School in 1948, and was a member for over 40 years at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana.

Delores married Leo Barringer on June 27, 1950, and together they would have five children.

She enjoyed making wood crafts. With her husband, Do had a craft shop called “DoLeo Crafts”. They appreciated spending time together. She was a Girl Scout leader and a Den mother. She found being a second grade Sunday school teacher at the First Presbyterian Church the most rewarding. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star of Ohio. Delores was a strong-willed survivor who will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Melody McCoy and her husband, Thomas, of Leetonia, with whom she made her home, Pamela Barringer-Kenney of Salem, and Linda Hayes of Leetonia; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves her kitty of 14 years, Cecilia, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; her daughter, Mary Barringer-Manton; her son, Bruce; and two brothers, Jack and Gary.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, OH 44408, with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, OH 44408
