Obituary for Lolita Alvarez

LOLITA KAIKLIAN ALVAREZ September 22, 1923 - January 20, 2012 Lolita Kaiklian was born on September 22, 1923, in the municipality of Kawit, in the Province of Cavite within the Republic of The Philippines to parents, Pedro and Juliana Kaiklian. She was the third eldest child of 6 siblings: 5 brothers and 1 sister. Lolita was raised a devout Methodist and as her mother passed away at an early age–she stepped in and braved her mother's role for the family. Those that knew her should not be surprised by this selfless act. She was a loving, nurturing provider who always thought of others before herself. By taking this care-giver role, she honed her excellent cooking skills and crafty sewing. Her pinpoint needlework eventually led her into the family business to become a seamstress–creating well-crafted uniform for such prestigious clients as the Navy and the Boy Scouts, to name a few. On January 13, 1946, she married the love of her life, Benjamin Alvarez. Their life together blessed them in raising 6 children within the very town that she grew up in–Wakas, Kawit, Cavite. On July 1975, she embarked on a journey to the United States to finally be reunited with Benjamin, whom had spent two years establishing a new horizon for her and their children in Daly City, California. From that very day, she created a new home, carrying in-hand the traditions and values of her origin, which she then passed on to her 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. As the sun approached early in the morning of January 20, 2012, Lolita Kaiklian Alvarez faced a new path, to once again be reunited with her Benjamin–this time, going back to her true home within the Heavens. She is survived by an extensive Family who will now carry on her legacy - five children: Armando (Emilia), Jose (Filma), Alfredo (Lorna), Ray (Lolita), and Marilyn; twelve grandchildren: Sheila (Val), Darwin, Jocelyn (VJ), Grace (Jonar), Brian (Riva), Daphne, Celeste (Tony), Alpert, Lorelei, Radley , Jeffrey, and Jennylyn (Jimmy) and nine great-grandchildren: Lhialynn, Sydney, Luke, Franklin, Verdandi, Chase, Jeremiah, Jorel and Marlee.
