Virginia "Virgie Carr" Prestwood, 93, passed away on November 26, 2014.
Born in Barberton, Ohio on July 22, 1921 to Frank and Louise Martin Carr. On December 21, 1938, she married Charles Hill and had three daughters from this union. She was a member of People Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Laverne Brazil and Diann Futch; sister, Elda Mae Carr James; brothers, Charles, David and Frank Jr. Carr; special sisters-in-law, Betty and Julia Carr.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia McCraney, and her grandchildren, Eric Murray, Kevin Hill, Diana, Debbie, Danina, Gary, and Donald Futch, Johnnie Brazil, Larry Jr., Tonya, Paula, Lisa, and Garland McCraney; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special niece, Ronda Tyson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 10 at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Avenue, with graveside service immediately following at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to 772 Clark Street #B, Akron, Ohio 44311.
