Edith Macri, 90

YOUNGSTOWN ­ Edith Macri, 90, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Hampton Woods Nursing Home.
She was born in Youngstown, on Feb. 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Angelo and Custode Buffano.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone.
Edith worked at G.E. Lamp and Fisher Fazzio. She was a prayer warrior for anyone, and a founding member of St. Christine Catholic Church and its Infant of Prague Guild. She was homebound since 1991. Edith loved to bake for family and friends. At wedding receptions, you could see her cookies spread out on the cookie table. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Several of her afghans were donated to raffles at St. Christine¹s Festivals.
She also crocheted blankets for preemies donating then to local hospitals.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Mike; sister Mary Foster; and brothers Frank and Pat Buffano.
She is survived by her son, Michael; daughter-in-law Kathy; granddaughter Kristin; great-grandson Aiden, all in Stafford, Texas; a brother, Anthony Buffano of Youngstown; her caregivers, nieces Angie (Dolly) Souza, Marilyn Jeswald (her Goddaughter), Mary Lou Hromyak; and several nieces and nephews and Godchildren.
In honor of her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
There will be a Rosary at St. Christine Church on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at
10 a.m. at the back of the church before the funeral Mass.
Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hampton Woods Nursing Home and Cross Roads Hospice for their tender loving care.
