Obituary for Gladys L Heffron

YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Gladys Louise Heffron, 94, who passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center. She resided at Windsor House in New Middletown.

Gladys was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late August and Louise (Timm) Rochow.

She was employed at Isaly Dairy in the Austintown Plaza for six years and then at Colla’s Market for 17 years. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid Society and Sewing Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas, who passed away Jan. 19, 1988; as well as two sisters, Edna and Verna; and brothers Randall and Ervin.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Dolores (Emerson) Shick of Mineral Ridge and Barbara (Bill) Pitts of Salem; her son, James (Debra) Heffron of Austintown; stepson Thomas (Janice) Heffron of Santa Rosa, Calif.; six grandchildren, Luanne (Daniel) Fox, Rachel (Greg) Hammond, Matthew (Roberta) Pitts, Jonathan Pitts, Jimmy (Heather) Heffron and Bradley (Pheobe) Heffron; and six great-grandchildren, Danny, Michael, Jeffrey, Klarissa, Patrick and Garrett.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
