Obituary for Anna "Nina" Leone

Anna "Nina" (Bossi) Leone 1921 - 2014 | Obituary | Condolences Anna "Nina" (Bossi) Leone Obituary Anna "Nina" Bossi Leone Anna "Nina" Bossi Leone, 93, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father and reunite with her husband, Roland, on November 19, 2014. They celebrated 64 years of marriage and were members of St. Joseph Parish in Cuyahoga Falls since 1960. Nina was born on Sept. 23, 1921 to Nazareno and Carmela Bossi along with seven brothers and sisters in Naples, Italy. She came to the United States in 1946 after marrying Roland Leone (deceased 2009), who served in the Army (82nd Airborne) in Europe during World War II. They married in Capo di Monte, Italy, and spent their honeymoon at the Isle of Capri. Nina was a beautiful, petite lady who would often help her husband Roland, who owned the City Nite Club Café in Barberton. She was very well liked by all of their patrons, thus she helped the business operate successfully. Later in the 1978, she worked at the new Red Lobster Restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls. After her retirement, she contributed to the pizza recipes at Leone''s Pony Express Pizza in Stow. But her real passion in life was their family. As a typical good mother, she always made sure that her children were educated, had enough to eat, dressed well, and lived in a home the family could be proud of. Nina was an excellent cook, and in the Italian way, always offered fine food to those who visited their lovely home in Cuyahoga Falls. She loved to be with her family, playing 500 Rummy, or watching her daily TV food shows. She was always busy, but found time to travel to Naples, Italy every few years to visit her many relatives. She was a prideful lady who never forgot her Italian heritage. Those who knew Nina will remember her as an attractive lady who came to America with her husband to live the American dream. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and fine memories will always remain for those who knew her. Nina is survived by a sister, Celeste, in Naples, Italy; son, Jimmy (Patty) Leone of Stow; daughter (devoted caregiver), Diane (Bob) Mangina of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren, Bobby (Kerry) Leone of Tallmadge, Mickey Leone of Akron, Jimmy Leone II of Stowe, Vt., Chrysa (Andy) Zraik, Jamie (Craig) DeLorenzo; great-grandchildren, Nina, Alexander, Izaac, Carlo, Sofia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Italy. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Rudy and his wife Doris Leone Rolenz; nephews, Richard Rolenz, John Rolenz (deceased), and David (Joanna) Rolenz; best friends, Maria Bologna, Gina Antognoli, Lucy Lute, Maria Dibble, and Irene Rembolt who also came to America after World War II, and have been dear friends for over 60 years. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd Street, Cuyahoga Falls 44221, where family and friends may gather from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Private Entombment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church or to Italian American Professional Businessmen''s Club (IAPBC), 590 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310, or wishes of the family.
