Addie M. Hampton, 86, of Akron, Ohio was accepted into the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ on November 8, 2014 after a short illness.
Addie was born August 2, 1928 in Eufaula, Alabama to Mary Diggs Jones and Lewis Jones. Addie moved to Akron, Ohio at an early age and retired from the Holiday Inn as a Housekeeper and she was a member of the Children of Gethesmane 174.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Zack M. Hampton; children, Samuel B. Jones and Mary L. Jones; brother, Robert Jones and John Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Lillie Kelker; devoted granddaughter, Robin (Pastor Robert) Evans; grandchildren, Sherrie (Glenn) Brightwell, Darryl Jones, DaShawn McDowell and Jaline Albert; 16 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Emma Jones and Mary Jones; special cousin, Lillie Walker; a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Pastor Robert Evans officiating. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon. Procession will form at 477 White Pond Drive, condolences may be sent to 915 Mull Avenue Apt. 1L, Akron, Ohio 44313
