Obituary for Christy Lee Calvert
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Christy Lee (Thompson) Calvert, 61, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave., Mentor. The Rev. Kathy U. Dickriede and the Rev. Beverly L. Wrobel will officiate the services. Mrs. Calvert passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. Born Oct. 27, 1951, in Painesville, she was a longtime Mentor resident, having lived briefly on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights and Welshfield. Christy was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church, a graduate of Mentor High School''s Class of 1969 and of Hiram College''s Class of 1973, where she was editor of the college newspaper and very active in college theatrical productions. She enjoyed antiques, theatre, the arts, music, meeting and talking with people and developing friendships. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, James J. Calvert; daughters, Katie and Meghan Calvert, all of Mentor; and sister, Michal Thompson of Stockport. Her parents, James Riley and Mary Lou (Burke) Thompson are deceased, who were the former owners of Gable Galleries Antiques in Mentor.
