Obituary for Irene Rearick

GIRARD - Irene M. Rearick, 86, passed away Oct. 15, 2014, at Omni Manor Nursing Home.

Irene was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Clearfield, Pa., the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred Drug Merrell.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Machel and Beverly Hoover, both of Girard; sisters Nellie Rutter of Pennsylvania, Karen Kephart of New Jersey and Jean Ritzie of Pennsylvania; brother Richard Merrell of Florida; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Rearick, whom she married May 1, 1948, and died Nov. 11, 2001; her son, Thomas Rearick; and nine sisters and brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, at noon at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Irene will be laid to rest at Greenhaven Cemetery.
