Obituary for Vester Rosenbaum

   Memorial services to honor the life of Vester Borden Rosenbaum, 79, of Willoughby, will be held at a later date. Mr. Rosenbaum passed into the arms of Jesus on November 5, 2014. Born November 2, 1935, in St. Charles, VA, and raised in Rose Hill, VA, he had lived in Willoughby for the past 59 years. He was a member of the Willoughby Jaycees, Pee Wee football league, and served as a member of the football chain gang at Willoughby South High School. He also was a French and Indian War re-enactor named "Old Tracks" with the Ramrod Busters – a passion that he shared with his grandchildren for over 20 years. Mr. Rosenbaum was employed by the Kennametal Corporation for 42 years. He was surrounded, supported, and is survived by his wife, Carole; son, Sam; daughters, Dee (Silvio) Leal and Vicki (Robert) Zerby; grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Jonathan, Melinda, Angela, Adam, David and Kathryn; great granddaughter, June; sister, Judith St. Clair; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Rosenbaum and Phyllis Nelisse. He also leaves his nieces, Debbie, Sandy, Diane, Dana and Tami and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kellie Rosenbaum; and brothers, Steve and David Rosenbaum. Vester will be laid to rest privately, with his family, at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
