Quenton Stembridge, 75, passed away surrounded by family on October 19, 2014.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 13, 1939 to the late Olive Childress and Jack Stembridge. Quenton was a lifetime resident of Akron and graduated from South High School. He worked for the City of Akron and retired in October 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kurtis Heard of Lansing, Michigan and stepfather, Fulton Childress. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving children, Qu''Shonda and Cecile Stembridge, Deloris Johnson, and Shamika (Mohammed) Fofana; niece, Kirsten Heard; nephew, Kurtis Heard Jr.; sister-in-law, Cynthia Heard; eight grandchildren and a host of great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306, where family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form at 807 Donald Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306 and condolences may be sent to 853 Barbara Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306.
