Obituary for Connye J. Cunningham

Connye J. (Mitson) Cunningham

 left this earth Oct. 21, 2014 and is now dancing on streets of gold with her husband Jeffrey D. Cunningham. She was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on March 11, 1953 and was the daughter of Dolores (Benson) Mitson and the late Benjamin J. Mitson. She was a 1971 graduate of Oakwood High School. She was the owner of the family''s business Benmit. She was a member of Bethel Temple Church and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority Along with her husband, Jeff and her father, Ben, Connye was preceded in death by her brother, David Mitson, her mother and father-in-law, Beverly and Howard Cunningham, her brothers-in-law, Joel Cunningham and Greg Griffith, her nieces, Amanda Cunningham, Emily Mitson Lavy and Jessica Cunningham; and her great- nieces Katherine and Kyra Yanchunas. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Carol), Jennifer (Scott), Brian and Deion; her mother, Dolores Mitson; her grandchildren, Dylan, Sadie, Casey and Chloe, her brothers, Les (Mindi) and Cris (Patti); her sisters-in-law, Cindy Griffith, Shelley (Dan) Smeyres, Nancy (Mark) Livengood, Betsy Cunningham and Sarita (Rich) Hedderly. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A gathering will take place at Bethel Temple Church, 711-25th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709 Thursday from 10-11 a.m. with the service beginning promptly at 11 a.m. Pastor Scott Spencer will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
