Obituary for Magdaline Buda


   Magdaline Buda, age 93, passed away October 2, 2014, at Montefiore Nursing Home in Beachwood.
Born August 25, 1921, in the Danube Swabian village of Klek, Banat, to Katharina (Bär) and Johann Kleindienst, Magdalena Kleindienst immigrated to the United States in October 1922. After having relocated to Cleveland, she attended Nottingham School. Magdaline was subsequently held back due to milk fever but happily graduated from Collinwood High School with her sister, Dorothy, in 1939.
She married Fredrick J. Schwarz at Saint Peters Church on January 15, 1944, though their marriage was ultimately a casualty of World War II. Magdaline worked as a Foiler and Quality Assurance Inspector at the Cleveland Wire Spring Company throughout the war, and later married Joseph W. Buda on March 30, 1948.
She enjoyed music, particularly church hymns, Hawaiian guitar, and the music of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. She loved to read Harlequin romantic suspense novels, and was a member of the Willowick Senior Center, and the Senior Independence Adult Day Center in Painesville.
Magdaline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Buda; daughter, Kathleen A. McClellan; brother, John L. Kleindienst; and sister, Dorothy M. Kleindienst.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Mary (Jeffrey) Winfield; grandson, John (Silvia) McClellan; and great-grandsons, Matthew, Robbie, Charlie, and Nathan.
Magdaline was also very close to her nieces, Karen (Larry) Maple, Helen Kleindienst (deceased), Della (Art) Hejduk, and Deborah Hosterman; her nephews, Donald (Donna), Robert (An Sun), and James (Nancy) Zolinski, and their families.
Friends and family will be receiveFuneral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, at 10 a.m. at the Monreal Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A . Burial will immediately follow at Western Reserve Memorial Garden.
