Obituary for Marguerite L Klinger
Funeral services for Marguerite L. "Peggy" (nee Kelly) Klinger, 83, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, 8125 Mentor Ave., Mentor. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at the church.) Mrs. Klinger entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, surrounded by her family. Marguerite was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Pine Grove, Pa., the daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (nee Schwartz) Kidwell. She was very active in the Lake County Democratic Party and was elected Democratic Woman of the Year in 1997. She was also a member of the Mentor Headlands Garden Club for many years and was her grandson, Robbie''s "Best Friend." Some of her favorite hobbies were doing crossword puzzles and collecting ducks, but she was best known for her collection of well over 75 various types of miniature donkeys. She was known in the Democratic society as the "Party Animal," for her vast collection of the Democratic mascot. One of the many things that her family and friends will miss most was Peggy''s "gift of gab." She was always well versed in many issues of the world and could sit down with you for hours carrying on a conversation, and just when you would think she would have nothing more to say, she would say…"and just one more thing…" She leaves behind her daughter, Sharon (Robert) Bottiggi of Fairport Harbor; sons, Keith Klinger (Lee Mercer) of Concord Township and Stephen (Betty) Klinger of Willoughby; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles E. Klinger; her parents; and siblings, William M. Kelly and George S. Kelly. Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name be made to Faith Lutheran Church''s Pavilion Fund, 8125 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
