Claire L. King

 

Age 93, a resident of the Canton Regency, passed away there Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014. She was born in East Liverpool, OH a daughter of the late Gordon and Mary Catherine (Satow) Cook, and was a Canton resident most of her life. Claire attended McKinley High School and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard R. King, on Aug. 24, 2007, who always called her Weezie, and that became her nickname for all the family, also her sister, Frances Megela, and six brothers, Lewis, Jim, Frank, Walter, Bill and Gordon Cook, Jr. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Kohl, of Massillon; and her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Nancy King, of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren, Marie (Ken) Grosswiller and their children, Sarah, Angela, Joey, and Josh, Michelle (Tim) May and their children, Alex, Allison, and Luke, John (Melissa) Trudeau and their children, Logan and Breanna, Lynn Marie King, Kristen (Ryan) Thady and their children, Kyle, Ella, Emma, and one soon to be born, Stephen (Kelly) King and their children, Zachary and Kiera, Robert (Heather) Kohl and their daughter, Katie, Michael (Amy) Kohl and their children, Morgan and Lenore; and her good friends, Vivian Wymer and Helen Kolp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Donald King as Celebrant. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home and meet Thursday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the Mass.
