Obituary for Felix Daniel Figueroa

YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. William Rodriguez at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, for Felix Daniel Figueroa, 54, who passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday morning.

Felix was born Nov. 26, 1959, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, a son of Felix and Ana Celia Figueroa. He moved to Youngstown at the age of 17 and shortly after graduated in 1978 from The Rayen School.

Felix retired from Trumbull County Children’s Services Department, where he worked as a youth leader, and was also an employment specialist for Compass Family & Community Services. He most recently was employed at MCAP Head Start Program as a family development specialist.

He was a member and elder at the Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, watching movies and spending time with his two grandchildren.

Besides his father of Youngstown, he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Rosa D. Villa, whom he married July 6, 1980; three daughters, Jessica D. (Michael Jr.) Fountain of Youngstown, Melissa D. (Matthew) McCarty of Columbus, and Amaris D. Figueroa of Youngstown; two sisters, Magdalena Figueroa of New Jersey, and Ana Celi Figueroa of Boardman; two brothers, Felix Negron and Benjamin Negron, both of Youngstown; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Nadia.

Besides his mother, Felix was preceded in death by a sister, Ana Eva Figueroa; and two brothers, Nephtali Figueroa and infant Noah Figueroa.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church
