EDWARD PALONE Obituary | Condolences Edward Palone CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Edward Palone, 85, went home to be with Jesus on August 29, 2014. Born in Dry Tavern, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1956, a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church and attended The Chapel. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Angeline Palone; eight brothers and sisters; beloved wife of 55 years, Jean Marie. He has one surviving brother, Eugene. He is survived by his seven "good kids" Diane (Joe) Stow, Donna (Terry) Westfield Twp., James (Joy) Massillon, Edward of Hawaii, Deborah (Michael) Stow, Susan (Brian) of Mertzon, Texas, Robert of Colorado; 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Ed served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army from July 19, 1949 and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1953. The majority of his service was spent in Heidelberg and Frankfurt, Germany, where he met his future bride, Jean. He also served in the Army National Guard and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class until February 1957. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills, after 38 years of service. He was respected by his co-workers for his diligence in every task he performed. Ed also demonstrated to his children and grandchildren the meaning of hard work and that any job worth doing, was worth doing well. Ed enjoyed woodcarving, especially duck decoys. He was a great outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, and archery. In his high school days, he played baseball and football. He was all-day pitcher for our backyard baseball games. The greatest joys of his life were his wife and children. Even though at times he worked three jobs to support his family, he was always there for them. The family always had everything they needed. The family would like to send a special thank you Dr. Mehool Patel of Summit Oncology, Liz Foley and Staff of WRH, Hospice of Summa, and especially his nurse Meg and his private duty caregivers, Terry and Barb. A heartfelt thanks to his neighbors, Howard, Herb, Jeanne and Bobby for their love and care, along with his lifetime friend, Anthony Morasciani. Rev. James Mitchell will conduct funeral services TUESDAY, 11 a.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call SUNDAY 2 to 4 p.m. and TUESDAY from 10 a.m. until service time.
