Betty Jane Wright (Salzer)
Betty J. Wright went to be with the Lord Aug. 17, 2014, from natural causes, with her loving family by her side.
Betty was born May 3, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to the late Delbert C. and Forrest Salzer. She graduated from Akron South High School in 1939 and attended business college.
Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Herbert M. Wright, Jr., also her brothers, Delbert Jr. and Richard Salzer, she leaves behind, her devoted daughter, Martha J. and son-in-law, David L. Koteff of Canton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hilda Salzer; four nephews and eight nieces and several cousins.
Betty loved life and enjoyed being with people. Her greatest gift was being a mother and she took great pride in being a providing homemaker and was known for her delicious home-cooking, especially her apple pie. She was an avid bridge player, being a dedicated member of IMP''s. Betty was last employed at AAA of Canton as a consistently top-ranked salesperson, attended Northminster Presbyterian Church in North Canton, where she served as a Deacon and Elder and on several committees and woman''s circle, member of Legacy Chapter #596 OES North Canton, DAR Canton Chapter and was the first Lady Elk, North Canton Lodge. We will always remember the "scooter lady" of North Canton.
A special Thank You to the caring staff at St. Luke''s Nursing Home and Aultman Hospice for their attention during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 237 W. Maple St., North Canton, OH 44720. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.E. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, receiving guests one hour prior. Interment, Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, immediately following the service.
