Ruby Jackson Parker

Ruby Jackson Parker, fondly known as "Ruby Doo" was born April 25, 1924 to John and Mattie Jackson in Atlanta Georgia. As an infant she moved with her parents to Akron, Ohio. Ruby grew up on the east side of Akron graduating from East High School. Immediately following high school, Ruby was employed by Goodyear Aircraft. She was further employed by Byron''s Department Store, Mrs. Bidler''s Catering Service and eventually the Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a mailroom clerk and retired as a as a telephone information operator.

Ruby was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Herbert Parker, both of her brothers, Robert Thomas Jackson and Irwin Paul Jackson, her daughter Kimberly Patrice Parker Bennett and her grandsons Cameron and Ion Bennett. She leaves to live out her legacy of faith in Jesus Christ her daughter, Leslie Parker Barnes (Ted); sisters, Jewel Betsy Jones and Abbie Jean Head; son in law, John Bennett; grandchildren, Leslie Jamison Bennett, McKenzie Rae Bennett, Theo Carson Barnes, and Kimberly Gayle Barnes, Rochelle Denise Barnes and Rachel Deanna Johnson (Kevin); two great grandchildren, Semaj Javier Bennett, Trey Immanuel Barnes and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 12 P.M. at Arlington Church of God 539 Arlington Street Akron, Ohio 44306. Family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service. Rev. Charles Myricks, Officiating Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 960 Belden Ave. Akron, Ohio 44310.
