Eugene I. Yost

85 of Jackson Twp., passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Jan. 20, 1929 in Massillon the son of Irvin and Bertha (Loch) Yost. Gene was a U. S. Army veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School and played for the Massillon Tigers Football team. Gene worked for Ohio Edison and retired in 1991 after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and gardening. Gene was a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Ida Jane (Matthews) Yost in 1959 and Roseanne Marie (Williams) Yost in 1980; and his sisters, Sister Barbara Jean Yost and Kathleen Spidell. He is survived by his children David Yost, Betsy McGough, Michael (Kendra) Yost and Cynthia Yost; his grandchildren Andy, Justin, and Logan Yost, Alexis Caldwell, and Matthew McGough; his great grandchildren A.J., Maddie, Alex and Tristyn; and his sister Beverly Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Fr. Edward Gretchko will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
