Obituary for Gennette Thacker

AUSTINTOWN - Gennette (Henley) Thacker, passed away Aug. 8, 2014, at the Hospice House in Poland.

Gennette was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Wheelwright, Ky., daughter of John and Montana (Hall) Henley.

She retired from Kmart, where she worked as a Department Head for 22 years. She also worked prior at GE for eight years as an Inspector. Gennette was an active member at the Boardman Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Theodore; three children, Jeff (Mary Lou) Thacker of Canfield, Randy (Robin) Thacker of Mt. Zion, Ill., and Don (Diane) Thacker of Uniontown; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Rachelle, Matthew, Cassie, Tara, Austin and Josh; one great-grandchild, Isabelle;  three sisters; and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with interment to follow in the Greenhaven Memorial Park
