Obituary for Mary Frances Schooch

AUSTINTOWN - Mary Frances Schoch, 81, died at 11 p.m. Friday at Park Vista Center in Youngstown, where she had resided since suffering a stroke in March

She was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Big Run, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Nora Kicher, and lived most of her life in the Mahoning Valley.

She retired in 2001 from Boardman Local Schools, where she worked in the treasurer’s office for 27 years.

A longtime active member of Western Reserve United Methodist Church in Canfield, she belonged to the Christian Fellowship Sunday school class and served on various committees. She was active in the Mahoning Valley Multiple Sclerosis Society for many years, and with her husband, was a longtime member of the Circle 8 square dance club based in Canfield.

She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband, Ronald K. Schoch, whom she married May 17, 1952.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (David) Martin of Austintown, and Brenda (Bob) Williams of Canfield; and a son, Jeff (Connie) Schoch of Salem; four grandchildren, Kevin (Heather) Williams of Pickerington, Kelly Williams of Columbus, Katie (Brennan) Spaulding of Ravenna, and Kaitlin Schoch of Salem; and two great-grandchildren, Liliana and Daniel Williams of Pickerington.

Services will be held at noon on Monday at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russ Adams officiating.

Friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel and Monday one hour before the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the church.
