Obituary for David Kampman

Reading Eagle, 8/12/1897;( Please note, Mr. Kampman is buried at Hope, not Fairview, name is spelled Kampman on tomb stone, news paper in error); David Campman, aged 59 years, 3 months 6 days, who died in Ruscomanor, about two miles from Pricetown of heart disease and dropsy will be buried in Fairview cemetery Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Funeral sermon in St. John’s church by Rev. B.E. Kramlich and Rev. J. J. Cressman. Mr. Campman was a member of Mertz’s church, Stony Point of which Rev. Kramlich is the pastor. Deceased was sickly for many years, but was only bedfast the past 2 weeks. He was a soldier in the late war, where he received permanent injuries among which was a gunshot wound in his chest, the ball having passed entirely through his lung on the right side. He was badly ruptured, while carrying heavy logs to build a bridge in Virginia. He leaves a widow ( nee Leanda Kutz ) and the fallowing children; Mrs Charles Hare, of Fleetwood; Annie and John, of Oley; Emma of Oley Line; Jennie of Maxatawny; Susan at home; Charles at home. Three children, two daughters and one son, preceded him in death. The fallowing brothers and sisters survive; James Campman, of Rockland; Frederick of Lebanon, Sarah, wife of John Brandt, of Indiana. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
