Obituary for Joan J. Durkalski
Joan (nee Thompson) Durkalski, age 82, went home to be with our lord Jesus Christ on July 23, 2014, for there is no salvation except in Christ alone, and his shed blood on the cross, for those that believe.
She was born February 2, 1932, in Mesopotamia, and a Chester Twp. Resident for 37 years.
Joan was a secretary for Truline Industries, and loved traveling and hiking.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frank; son, Court (Amy); grandchildren, Trevor and Aaron Durkalski; sisters, Mildred (Lloyd) Kellogg, Hazel Pollitt, and Alice Davis; brother, Tommy (Dottie) Thompson; and all her brothers and sisters, and the Lord, at Chester Christian Center.
She is preceded in death by her son, Dean; her mother and father; sister, Kathy; and brother, Jim.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp.
A Celebration of Joan''''s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Chester Christian Center, 11815 Chillicothe Rd, Chester Twp. Pastor Steve Sawczak will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
