Marcella E. Gilbride

Marcella E. Gilbride passed away July 23, 2014 at age 98. She was born September 1, 1915 to Eva and Raymond Moore.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Ralph; siblings, Viola Dosch, Edward and Richard Moore, Lavella Colby; and grandson, Curt Wagner.

Marcella loved sports and especially loved to play pool. She was thought to be the oldest female tournament pool player in the United States at age 90. The highlight of her pool career was when her team mates arranged for her to meet and play pool with Allison Fisher, the World Champion female pool player at the time.

She leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Skehan (Michael); son, Thomas Gilbride (Donna); daughter, Pamela Wagner (Fred); nine grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and pool players who admired her skill.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses on 3-West, Hospice and Dr. Dieter at Western Reserve Hospital for their loving and compassionate care for Mom and the family in her last days.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 West Market St., where friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service. Private inurnment afterward at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
