Edward James Millender, Sr.
Edward James Millender, Sr. affectionately known as Mr. Ed was born September 14, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to the parents of the late James and Carol Millender. He departed the earthly life on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Ed confessed his hope in Jesus Christ at an early age in Akron, Ohio where he was a member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church and served on the usher board. Upon his arrival to Georgia he became a member of Marvelous Light Christian Ministries in Lithia Springs, Georgia where Reverend Charles Chandler is pastor. While at Marvelous Light Christian Ministries he was a member of the Male Chorus. He was educated in the Akron Public School System.
Ed was united in matrimony to Mrs. Mercile Lee Millender on August 6, 1996 and they shared together eighteen wonderful years to this union two children were born.
He leaves to cherish his devoted memories a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Mercile Lee Millender; two children, Rochell Lashawn and Edward James Millender Jr.; mother, Mrs. Carol Millender; step mother, Mary Millender; siblings, Dorothy Carol, Thelma Jean (Jaun), Marilyn Anita (Tony), Cristye Michelle (Billy), Russel Lynn (Calpurnia), Lynn Russel, Morris Sylvester (Latonda), Wesley Lardon (Tasha); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 12 p.m. where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 844 Garth Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320.
