Obituary for Joyce E Plemel

Joyce E. Plemel (nee Gorshe), age 96, passed away on July 1, 2014 at Gateway Health care Center in Euclid.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1918 in Cleveland and was a lifelong resident.
Joyce was very active in the Slovenian Community and was one of the founding member of the Progressive Slovenian Women of America Circle 1, along with her mother, Frances Gorshe, and other women. She was a member of the Waterloo Pensioners, Slovenian National Benefit Society Lodge # 576, and American Mutual Life Association Lodge # 9.
She loved cooking, but most importantly, helping to preserve the Slovenian Culture for future generations.
Joyce is survived by her loving children, Robert of Columbus, Bruce (Nancy), and Jenny. She was the cherished Grandma of Randy (Sara) and Robert (Callie); Aunt of Joyce Gorshe.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jospeh; parents, Erasmus and Frances (nee Zagorc); and her sister, Vivian Gorshe.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jakubs & Son Funeral Home, 936 E. 185th Street, Cleveland, where funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
