Gladys H. Jones

Matriarch of the Jones family, Gladys H. Jones, age 100, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, surrounded by her family who loves her dearly.

Gladys was born on September 15, 1913 in Troy, Alabama to the late J.C. Henderson and Mamie Jackson. She was the second of five children born to this union. Encouraged by her mother to always remember that family comes first, she enjoyed an unbreakable bond with her sisters and encouraged her offspring to maintain the same sentiments.

Gladys'' love for the Lord was undeniable and she accredited her longevity to being faithful, obediently serving the Lord and making Him the number one priority in her life. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for over 80 years and served faithfully until her health prevented her from doing so. Gladys also loved playing bingo, hot sauce, garlic/parsley tablets and Arthur Treacher''s.

Samuel Odell Jones; husband, Allen McNair; sisters, Bernice Marinovich, Darlene Louise Henderson, Lula Humphrey, Ethel Mitchell and Bessie, Charles and Percy Henderson; sons, Samuel Odell Jones, Jr. and Robert McNair; grandsons, Ronald M. Jones, Jr. and Arnold Jones; granddaughter, Melea McNair; and a special niece, who was more like a sister, Gertrude Brewer.
