Mary C. Demaree 1922 - 2014 | Obituary | Condolences | Gallery Mary C. Demaree Obituary Mary C. Demaree Mary Catherine Demaree (Middleton), 91, passed away June 13, 2014 after a long dance with Alzheimer''s, joining her beloved husband of 56 years, Harry Z. Demaree, and her dearly loved daughter, Kathleen M. Adams, in the next circle of life. Mary was born June 22, 1922 in Indianapolis. She attended Tech High School and later worked as a legal secretary for Bachelder & Bachelder. During World War II, she worked at a defense plant (Curtiss-Wright) in Indianapolis and was active in the USO. In married life, she moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., and later to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. After her two children grew up, she returned to the work force, working as an executive secretary to the president of Ken Tool in Akron and later as an executive secretary to the manager of the retail advertising department of the Akron Beacon Journal. She retired in 1985 after 15 years with the Akron Beacon Journal. She was once an active member of Job''s Daughters. Her memberships included the First Christian Church of Stow, Cuyahoga Falls Woman''s Club and Cuyahoga Falls Travel Club. She was an avid bridge player and participated in numerous bridge clubs. She is survived by son, Daniel G. Demaree of Columbus; son-in-law, Maurice L. Adams of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; grandsons, Roy James Adams and Nathan Adams of Lakewood, Ohio; and sister, Sarah Johnson of Evansville, Ind. The family would like to thank the staffs of The Woodlands of Columbus and Gentiva Hospice for their thoughtful and professional care during the final years and days of Mary''s life. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ciriello & Carr Funeral home, 810 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, followed by inurnment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
