Robert ''Bob'' Snyder McLain
Well-known local business owner, Robert ''Bob'' Snyder McLain, died Friday, June 20, 2014, from cancer. He was 62. Bob left a legacy of entrepreneurship, athletic achievement, and generosity that extended to numerous local causes as well as family and friends. He had an expansive personality that engendered deep loyalty among a diverse group of friends and business associates. Bob was widely known for his quick wit, love of risk-taking, and adventurous spirit that led to a multitude of ''Bobby stories.'' The oldest son of Robert Wales (deceased) and Jacqueline Snyder McLain, Bob was born on Oct. 9, 1951. Bob was raised in Massillon and attended Jackson High School, Class of 1969, where he achieved recognition as one of Ohio''s top golfers. He graduated from Miami University in Ohio. The owner and operator of numerous successful businesses throughout his life, Bob was a fixture at his local establishments, Jerzee''s North and South, as well as the Pub Club and Panini''s. Bob is survived by numerous family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence in their lives and remember him with love and loss. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, June 24 from 4-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Ave. Massillon, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary''s Church, 206 Cherry Rd., Massillon, on Wednesday.
