Obituary for Mary Sabetta Sapach

Mary R. Sapach, 96, formerly of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 28, 2014, at Shady Knoll Health Care in Seymour. She was the beloved wife of the late Wasil Sapach. Mrs. Sapach was born in Derby on April 6, 1918, daughter of the late Nicola and Maria Abenante Sabetta. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, Mary enjoyed flower gardening, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two loving daughters, Marsha Shaw (Robert) of Long Beach, CA and Eileen Milia (Michael) of Seymour, a loving son, Russell Sapach (Betty) of North Branford, five cherished grandchildren, Marshann Cherney (Robert) of Oxford, Michael Milia (Leslie), Laurie Rossetti (Ronald), Jodie Milia (Nichole) and Michele Brunje (Travis) all of Seymour, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 30, 2014, from 5-7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Willis of the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Oxford officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
