HUBBARD – William Russell Priester Sr., 82, died Wednesday morning April 2, 2014, at Liberty Health Care.

He was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Rimersburg, Pa., a son of Russell and M. Blanche Mortimer Priester, and moved to the area in 1942, coming from Rimersburg.

Mr. Priester was a heavy equipment operator for 30 years at International Mill Service, retiring in 1994. He served with the U.S. Army and was of the Protestant faith.

William was proud of his work, was a hard worker and adored his family. He also was a Hubbard auxiliary police officer in the 1970s.

He leaves his wife, the former Wanda Jean Wells, whom he married Feb. 23, 1957; a son, William R. (Renee) Priester Jr. of Ravenna; three daughters, Karen L. (Ron) Gillen of Hubbard, Pam J. (Ron) Salata of Hilliard and Beth (Jeff) Norman of Struthers; two brothers, Lloyd Priester of Hubbard and Dean (Louise) Priester of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; six grandchildren, Michelle Moracco, Jason Williams, Sam Williams, Shelby Williams, Chris McCauley and Kevin McCauley; and six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Nicholas, Cole, Hannah, Anthony and Clara.

William was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vaughn Priester; and two sisters, Evelyn Maynard and Jean Gorman.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

There are no calling hours.

William’s final resting place will be Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
