Obituary for Elizabeth Steinbach Zenit
Elizabeth (Steinbach) Zenit, age 92, of Ansonia, CT entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Calvin Zenit. Mrs. Zenit was born in Waltmeilbach, Germany on December 12, 1921, daughter of the late Benedict & Anna Hoffman Steinbach. She came to the U.S. in 1957 and was a homemaker and resident of Ansonia for 56 years. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, walking & crocheting. She was a devoted mother to Thomas Zenit and his wife Elizabeth of Ansonia, Robert Zenit of Ansonia, Ellen Zenit of New Haven, Karen Zenit of Ansonia and Linda Adams and her husband Geoffrey of Charlotte, NC, loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 5 great -grandchildren. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Visiting will take place on Wednesday morning May 14, 2014 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:10 am, her funeral will process to the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of the Assumption, 61 N.
