Tyraye Biarritz Varner "Ray Ray" was born December 30, 1977, in Akron, Ohio to Gwynn Varner and Thomas Carter.
He graduated from John R. Buchtel Senior High School and was pursuing his business degree at Stark State University. He was a dedicated employee at Metro RTA. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was passionate about God and would share his faith with all. Words can''t express the devotion he had for his wife and family. He was not only Tywand''s husband, he was her best friend, provider and her everything.
He transitioned from labor to reward on April 19, 2014. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas Cy Carter, Joe D. Varner and Jesse F. Robinson; grandmother, Ruby P. Carter; and aunt, Gretta D. Varner.
He leaves to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife of 11 years, Tywand P. Varner; his mother, Gwynn Varner (Willie Dingle) of Akron, Ohio; father, Thomas Carter of Alabama; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn (Kevin) Hill; daughter, Alyssa Varner; sons, Marquis Rodgers, and Marquez "Cutty" Rodgers; brothers, Garcia Varner, Ricco Varner; stepbrothers, Thomas Smith, Cy Lee; brothers-in-law, Faron Robinson and Lloyd Flinn; sister, Teliah Varner; stepsisters'' Ebony Smith and Shavon Nurse; sisters-in-law, Wanda Robinson and Taletha Robinson; his namesake niece, Tyraeah Varner; and nephew, Little Riq. Special cousins, Tivie Preer, Ron Varner, Tanishia (Dean) Bickely, Squash Varner, Juice Varner, Khalil Sommerville, and Shawn Johnson; Godmothers, Shervell Hamilton and Monica Maxwell; god sister, Marsha Rackley; god brothers, D.J. and Darren Rackley; just to mention a few. Tyraye had an abundance of family and friend he truly loved.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at 12 noon, at Living-stone Apostolic Church, 587 S. Arlington St., Akron, Ohio 44306. Bishop Ralph Byrd, Jr., eulogizing. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m. until noon. Procession will form at 1394 Dover Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320. Condolences may be sent to 948 Fess Ave., Akron, Ohio 44307.
