Edith Price, 93, went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2014 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Haddock, Georgia to Calvin and Lucy Jackson. She was a member of Phillips Chapel CME Church where she served as an usher for over 55 years. She was a member of the ICUA, was past president of the Missionary Society 2nd Episcopal District, a founding member of the Golden Hearts, and a member of the AARP II. She was also a founding member of the Ella Dix Mother''s Board.
She was preceded in death by husband, Roger Price Sr.; son, Calvin Price; and daughter, Lillie Giles.
Left to cherish her memory is son, Roger Jr. (Elvia) Price; daughters, Carol (James) Ray, Eunice (Harold) Craig, Beatrice Brown and Geraldine Sharon Price. She also leaves her sister, Claude Bell; special daughters, Daisy Adams and Jackie Martin; and a host of grandchildren along with other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1 p.m., Pastor Sheree Winn eulogizing. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at Phillips Chapel Church, 413 Iroquois Ave., Akron, Ohio 44305. ICUA services at 12:30 p.m. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1317 Chippewa Ave. Akron, Ohio 44305.
