Obituary for James R. Price

AUSTINTOWN - James R. Price, 79, died Tuesday evening at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Price was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Youngstown, the son of the late Thomas and Jean (Hettenbaugh) Price.

James was a national champion softball player. He played in the Silver League in Akron up until a few months ago. He was inducted into the Silver League Hall of Fame for his achievements as a player. He also participated in the Senior Olympics for bowling and softball. James was also known for his great sense of humor.

He leaves behind his children, James (Kathy Hagen) Price of Ohiopyle, Pa., Debbie (Steve) Clear of Stow, and Craig (Kathy Morin) Price of Durham, Conn.; his grandchildren, Lindsey (Ty) Jaquay of Morgantown W.Va., and Briana (Will) Nowell of Pittsburgh; brother Robert (Kathy) Price of Loweville; as well as his long time companion, Anne Ellis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Marlene (Luscre) Price.

Friends may call Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
