Obituary for Zigmund Kozon

Zigmund Anthony Kozon, age 96, of Seymour, the beloved husband of the late Martha Anderlot Kozon, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Britain on November 29, 1917, son of the late Ignacz and Rose Karz Kozon. Zigmund was a devout communicant of St. Augustine Church of Seymour. He was a former General Foreman and the Assistant Superintendent of the Uniroyal Naugatuck Footwear Division. Zigmund loved the outdoors. Fishing, picking mushrooms and walking in the woods were some of his favorite activities. He also had a great passion for taking exceptional care of his home and yard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Aurora Council #53 of Seymour. Zigmund will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family includes his caring sons Ronald Z. Kozon of Seymour and Robert P. Kozon of Washington, DC; his beloved brother Joseph (Geraldine) Kozon of Indiana; his cherished granddaughter Debra Hosford of Seymour; his two cherished great-granddaughters and two cherished great-grandsons and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Father John A.S. Kozon, Lutzy Kozon, Edward Kozon and Chester Kozon. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Zigmund’s Life will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour. Interment in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia will follow the Mass. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, April 9, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
