Obituary for Albert E Chambers

ALBERT E. CHAMBERS

AUSTINTOWN – Albert E. Chambers, 87, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.

Albert was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Youngstown to parents John and Rose (Bako) Chambers

Albert served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Albert married Eleanor Klem on Feb. 6, 1954, and together they had one son

Albert worked for Truscon/Republic Steel as a clerk for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Albert lived in Austintown most of his life. He was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues as did his wife, Eleanor, of 60 years. “Al” and “El,” as they were often referred to by those closest to them, also loved to fish for walleye. Parts of many summers were spent at favorite spots in Ontario, Canada, where when fish refused to bite, the Milky Way provided a show on moonless clear nights. Those years were always looked back upon with great reverence as that was time well spent, doing what was loved in a beautiful place. Time spent with grandkids was always enjoyed.

Albert was a member of the United Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, Masonic Sulgrave Lodge, and Truscon Retiree Club

Albert is survived by sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Kearney of Youngstown and Helen Botsko of Struthers; brother-in-law, Clyde Anderson of Vienna; son, Gary (Lora) Chambers of Prospect; granddaughters, Renee (Chris) Hayes of Boardman, Rosalie (Nicholas) Opritza of Boardman, Ian and Chloe Chambers of Columbus; and nephew, Denny (Sharon) Pallay of Boardman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Eleanor.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., following the visitation.

Interment will be held at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
