Obituary for Carolina Czombos

YOUNGSTOWN - Carolina G. Czombos, 89, of the city’s west side, passed away Friday evening, March 21, 2014, at Valley Care Northside Medical Center.

Carolina was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late Peter and Helen Rusenek Alhimook, and came to this area in 1946.

She was a homemaker who also worked for 12 years at the former Northside Hospital as a nurse’s aide.

Mrs. Czombos enjoyed working in her yard, and crocheting.

Carolina is survived by a daughter, Andrea Czombos, with whom she shared her home; and two grandsons.

Her husband, Andy Czombos, whom she married April 13, 1945, passed away July 15, 1998. Two sons, Danny and Paul Czombos, and a daughter, Carole Hofmann, also preceded her in death.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.
