Obituary for Mary Ellen Fink

“Together Again”

AUSTINTOWN – Services will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Mary Ellen Fink, 85, formerly of Leigh Acres, Fla., who died early Wednesday morning at Austinwoods.

Mrs. Fink was born Aug. 9, 1928, in Canfield, the daughter of the late Chauncey and Amanda (Freed) Corll.

Mary was a member of the Smith Corners United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also worked as a homemaker, taking care of her family and enjoyed needle point.

Upon returning to Florida, she got a license to open and run a daycare at her home. Over a course of 26 years, she and her late husband took care of over 200 children in their home. She only retired when her health started to fail her.

She leaves her children, Chauncey (Marie) Fink of Berlin Center, Marcia (Nick) DePizzo of Austintown, Margaret (Jim) Ingeldue of Goshen, Lynn (Martin) Mikula of Youngstown and Kenneth (Tammy) Fink of Austintown; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl “Jim” Fink, whom she married on April 21, 1946, he recently passed Oct. 30, 2013; her daughter, Alice (surviving spouse Roger) Rowbottom; her grandchildren, Amanda DePizzo and Kenneth J. Fink; and her brothers, Lewis and Chauncey Corll.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff of Austinwoods and Dr. Shina for the care they gave their mother.
