AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Richard Michael DeDomenic, 73, who passed away March 1, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Richard was born April 16, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Bosko) DeDomenic.

Richard served with the U.S. Army. He was an art teacher for 35 years with Youngstown School System. When retired, he spent his time golfing with his brother, “hanging out” and playing card with his buddies. He also loved playing with his grandchildren and dog.

His wife, the former Nardene M. McMahan, whom he married Oct. 26, 1963, passed away May 8, 1994.

Richard leaves his daughter, Dana (David) Hutch of Austintown; his son, Graig DeDomenic of Austintown; his grandson, Chase DeDomenic; his granddaughters, Marissa DeDomenic, and Alyssa Hutch; his brother, Leonard DeDomenic of Youngstown; his sister, Sandra (William) Spirnock of Pittsburgh; his nephew, James Bartholomew; and his dog, Maxwell (Mamooch).

Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
