Vangie was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Feb. 24, 1916 to the late Peter and Stamatina Lambrou and was the only sister to six brothers. She married Alexander G. Marinakis on July 24, 1938 and had four children, George, Tony and Stella Tsirelis, all of Massillon, and Peter Marinakis of New Port Richey, Fla. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In the late 1930''''s, her husband founded the very popular Central Restaurant in downtown Massillon which they operated until 1950, when they built and opened the Triangle Bar and Restaurant in Akron. This was followed, in 1959, with purchase of the New Crystal Bar and Restaurant. Vangie and Alex retired from the restaurant business in 1968 and spent time enjoying their children and grandchildren and made several trips to Alex''''s native Greece, until his death in 1975. In 1977, Vangie moved to Oldsmar, Fla., and over the next 30 years, she would spend part of the year in Florida and part in Massillon. Over this same period of time she would spend several months, annually, in Greece, where she maintained a residence. In 2011, she moved back to Massillon spending her remaining years living with her daughter, Stella and husband, Mike. Vangie was an incredible woman, possessing enormous physical energy and emotional strength, which she unsparingly committed to her husband and children and to her extended family and friends.
