Obituary for Glen H. Martin
Glen H. Martin age 86, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. Glen was born on April 9, 1927 in Massillon the son of the late William and Adda (Toy) Martin. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran where he served our country during World War II at the age of 16. Glen retired from Republic Steel in 1989 after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Son''s of Herman, American Legion Post #221 and Grace U.C.C. He enjoyed tending to his gardens, deer hunting, and fishing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Catherine (McClaskey) Martin in 1994; one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his son, Mike Martin; his daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Jeremy Helline; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Hannah, Christiana, Shelby and Riley. A Celebration of Glen''s life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church of Christ. Rev. Edwin Shriver will be officiating. His final resting place will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be performed.
