The Life of Bonnie LaBorde
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Bonnie Rae Roszell LaBorde, age 83, who died on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:45 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Gary Funderburk, Associate Pastor of The Bayou Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Griffin; one son, Mike LaBorde and his partner Darla Jordan; three grandchildren, Monica Smith and her husband Kevin Smith, Kirk Dufour and Bryan J. LaBorde; four great grandchildren, Allan Domec, Connor Domec, McKenna Domec and Devin Dufour; two great great grandchildren and one brother, Donnie Roszell and his wife Deborah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis "Jim" T. LaBorde; her parents, Amon Leroy Roszell and the former,Verdie Bernard and three brothers, Rodney G. Roszell, Jerry L. Roszell and Wayne A. Roszell.
Mrs. LaBorde was born on November 13, 1930 in Effie, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for 59 years. She really enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great grandchildren. Mrs. LaBorde loved watching the New Orleans Saints Football games and was a huge fan of UL Athletics. She played bourré with friends and would visit the casinos occasionally.
Pallbearers will be Todd LaBorde, Louis LaBorde, Kevin Smith, Mike Domec, Allan Domec and Connor Domec. Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Roszell, Bill LaBorde, Andre'' LaBorde, Denny Roszell and Dustin Roszell.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
