The Life of Willie Woo
Willie Woo, 83, of Willowick, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Willie was born June 18, 1930, in El Paso, Texas, to loving parents, Sim and Soo (Shee) Woo. He had been a resident of Willowick for the past 55 years. Willie graduated from San Antonio Technical School in San Antonio, Texas, and served in the U.S. Army (101st Airborne) during the Korean War. On Aug. 14, 1955, he married Lillian Chin-Wing, his loving wife of 58 years. Willie retired from the Euclid Fisher Body (General Motors Corporation) after 37 years of devoted service in 1990. He was an avid outdoors person who loved fishing and hunting. Willie enjoyed watching all sports, especially wrestling. Willie is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; daughters, Jennifer Woo and Jacqueline (Yoongie) Min; son, Jeffrey (Ellen) Woo; grandchildren, Andrew Min, Alexander Min and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Woo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nellie Young. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Monreal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home.
