The Life of NAOMI VIOLET HARDERSEN

Naomi Hardersen, 97, died Saturday January 25, 2014 at Urbandale Health Care Center. She was born October 20, 1916 to Ben and Marian Hibbs in Mitchellville, Iowa.

She was an active member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling, MO. She enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer, spending her time camping, boating, and gardening. She also enjoyed exercising her artistic side with crafts of all kinds, including oil painting and quilting.

She is survived by her stepsons, Ron (Tammy) Hardersen of Waukee, and Gerry (Sheryl) Hardersen of Cary, North Carolina; as well as her brother, Bill Hibbs of Des Moines; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin A. Hardersen; sister, Estellean Baldwin; and her brother, Lester Hibbs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Kimberling City, MO, or to Waukee Christian Church, Waukee, IA, in loving memory of Naomi.
