The Life of DEBRA SUE REED
Debra Reed, 60, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Kavanagh on 56th.
Debra was born March 12, 1953 in Des Moines to Robert and Barbara White. She was a first and second grade teacher at Moulton, Greenwood and Studebaker Elementary Schools in the Des Moines Public School System. Debra retired in May of 2012 after 35 years of service and was a member of the ISEA and NEA.
Debra had been a long time active member of Norwalk Christian Church, most recently involved as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was a loving and supportive mother who never missed a twirling competition, dance recital or school activity. Debra was very involved in her daughter’s lives and her presence will be greatly missed.
Debra is survived by her husband of 37 years, Doug; daughters, Dawn and Diana Reed; brother, Robert T. White, Jr.; sister, Cindee (Ken) Messmaker and family; and a host of extended family members and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Norwalk Christian Church, 701 Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
