The Life of ROBERT DEAN FORKNER Jr.
Robert Dean Forkner, 63, was born September 3, 1950, in Des Moines, the son of Bobby Dean Forkner and Mary Lou Ventling. He passed away in Des Moines on January 12, 2014.
Robert was a hardworking man. He worked for Freeman Decorating for many years prior to being self-employed. Robert loved his family very much and cherished the time he spent with them.
Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Lou (Kenny) Schroeder; children, Bobbie Lynn Forkner, Robert Forkner, Jenny Forkner, and Mary Brannen; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Sondra (Chuck) McKeever, Peggy (Harvey) Helm, and Pamela Crawford; brother, Ty Forkner; grandma, Hazel; aunts, Sharon Goben and Shirley Lucas; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Jonda Sederwall; brother, Richard Forkner; grandfather, Harry Ventling; and his grandparents, Riley and Laura Forkner.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
