The Life of Dorcas Eleanora Smith Brown

D. Eleanora Brown, age 85, wife of Charles D. Brown an Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest Jan. 7, 2014. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on August 2, 1928. She worked as a nursing assistant for United Methodist Home in Shelton and was a member of The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. She was also a member & Past Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory her son Lennie Brown of West Haven, 3 daughters, Isabelle Lacy (James) of Hamden, Karen Brown of Ansonia, Donna McCarroll (Raymond)of East Haven, and 6 grand, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Brother Kenneth Smith of New York and best friend Vivian Tinney of Ansonia. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Shaneya Brown, 2 brothers Ralph & Charles Smith, and sister Ann Hall. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11:00 a.m. at The Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service.
