The Life of Myrtle Marie Schiller

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel for Myrtle Marie Schiller, 92, who died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Mark and Steve Schiller.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Cornell and her husband, Robert; five sons, Steve Schiller and his wife, Elaine of Olympia, WA, Mark Schiller and his wife Connie of Washington, MO, Cliff Schiller and his wife, Syliva of Olympia, WA, Craig Schiller and his wife, Janice of Florida, and Chris Schiller and his wife, Katie of Albany, NY; one sister, Verda Mae Baronet; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Schiller; her parents; one daughter, Lori Schiller; two sisters, Nettie Reynolds and Eleanor Laurents.

Myrtle Marie Schiller passed away after a brief illness. She had a passion for writing and was an award winning painter. She was the life of any party and the Belle of the Ball, especially when dancing was involved. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and always had pictures in her purse to boast about. She lived a full life traveling the world with Leo and all around the USA by motorcoach. She was a member of the Cruisin Cajuns, the Texas Outlaws motorcoach association, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.

Pallbearers will be Steve Schiller, Mark Schiller, Cliff Schiller, Chris Schiller, Robert Cornell, and Drew Cornell.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:00 PM by her Theresian Friends in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
